The short version: some links on this site earn us a commission if you buy through them. It never costs you more. We also sell hosting and maintenance ourselves, which makes us a competitor to several companies we write about. Our articles are drafted with AI assistance and edited by a human before they go up.
That is the whole disclosure. The rest of this page is the detail behind it.
What an affiliate link is
When we link to a product with an affiliate link and you buy something, the company pays us a referral fee. You pay the same price you would have paid going there directly. It costs you nothing, and it is how the writing on this site gets funded.
Affiliate links are marked #ad in the disclosure line at the top of every
article that contains them.
Which programs we are part of
Each company name in this table is an affiliate link. If one of them is what you need, going through it is a free way to support this site.

| SiteGround | Managed WordPress hosting |
| NameHero | Shared, WordPress, WooCommerce and reseller hosting |
| Elementor | The Elementor page builder and Elementor Pro |

As an Amazon Associate, Gila Bytes earns from qualifying purchases.
If we join other programs, they get added here.
Our biggest conflict of interest
We sell managed WordPress hosting and maintenance. Several companies above sell the same thing. When we compare hosts, we are a competitor writing about competitors, and you should read those articles knowing that.
Two things we do about it:
- Hosting comparisons carry their own note saying we sell a rival service.
- Where a cheap shared plan genuinely is the right answer for someone, we say so, including when that means recommending against hiring us.
A comparison written by a competitor that never concedes anything is not worth reading. If you catch us doing that, tell us.
How we decide what to recommend
- We only link products we would use on a client site, or already do.
- A commission never buys a recommendation, a ranking position or a kind word. The commission rate is not a factor in what we recommend.
- We do not accept payment for reviews, guest posts or link placements.
- When a product is wrong for your situation, we say so, whether or not we earn anything from it.
- Prices and plan details change constantly. We avoid quoting them where we can, and where we do quote them we date them. Check the vendor’s own page before you buy.
How these articles are written
We use AI to research and draft. A person then edits every article, checks the claims, adds the first-hand detail, and decides what gets published. Nothing is posted without a human reading it end to end.
Where an article reports a measurement, a screenshot or a result from a real site, that came from a person doing the work, not from the model.
Questions
If something here is unclear, or an article reads like it is selling rather than explaining, get in touch and tell us. We would rather hear it than not.
